This brand raised the bar. 

Now it’s your turn.

CFUV is a community radio station based in Victoria, BC. For this project, I designed a logo, visual identity, and a comprehensive brand guide that tells a story about the station and its unique culture.
 
CFUV is about building an inclusive community, hearing and sharing new sounds, amplifying underrepresented voices and perspectives, and stepping out of your comfort zone. The CFUV logomark “broadcasts” out from a focal point in an asymmetrical fashion, with four rings to represent four decades of radio.

The distorted rings loosely echo CFUV’s coverage map, while also resembling a shiny CD or a warped record. Inspired by a vibrational phenomenon known as cymatics, the logo illustrates a unique ripple effect caused by sound. In thinking about CFUV’s culture, the whole is greater than the sum of the parts and the collective culture is a gestalt of the individuals who volunteer and work at CFUV.
